Meet the creative minds behind Lykke Living! 

Karen Hines brings experience in new product development and brand marketing, with expertise in entrepreneurship and business education. As a professor, she teaches business topics including entrepreneurship, emphasizing storytelling’s power in business. Karen founded Lykke Living, a brand dedicated to sharing the story of simple, joyful living. She loves life in the Berkshires, where she finds inspiration and fosters meaningful connections that fuel her passion for business and well-being.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Sheila Shechtman is a third-generation entrepreneur with 40+ years in retail and gifting. She launched her career as the first apprentice at Dean & DeLuca, then founded acclaimed gourmet destination Nanshe’s in West Hartford, Connecticut. Her expertise spans merchandising, product development, sales, and marketing, creating meaningful market differentiation as an industry leader. Sheila was integral in forming Lykke Living. Now based in the Berkshires, she serves on the Becket Arts Center board and is a Lenox Garden Club member.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Rachel Shechtman is an entrepreneur and fourth-generation retailer who founded STORY, the groundbreaking concept store combining magazine narrative, art gallery exhibits, and traditional retail. Her innovation earned recognition on Fortune’s 40 Under 40, Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People, and Ad Age’s 50 Most Creative lists. Named Henry Crown Fellow by Aspen Institute and first Entrepreneur in Residence at Brooklyn Museum, she advises brands like LVMH and Netflix plus cultural institutions. Rachel was integral in developing Lykke Living’s store concept and product direction.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Jenny Shechtman is a seasoned operations executive who builds high-performing teams during growth phases. After managing operations at her mother Sheila’s company Giftcorp for a decade, she partnered with sister Rachel to launch innovative retail concept STORY, then served as COO at New Stand through its CBRE partnership. Jenny provided invaluable guidance during Lykke Living’s creation, impacting store concept and operations. Now consulting from NYC while considering West Stockbridge her happy place, she’s known for strategic expertise.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Nick Sizemore is a retail professional with 18+ years experience in leadership roles including Global Head of Visual Merchandising for Lacoste, Head of Creative Services for Dylan’s Candy Bar, and Creative Director for Patrick J Clayton Productions. He founded Sizemore Color Studios, specializing in visual merchandising, window design, branding strategy, graphic design, web design, social media, and event creative. Sizemore helps retail brands express their identity across physical and digital platforms. He created Lykke Living’s store layout and design to optimize customer experience and merchandising effectiveness.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Stefan Kosof, owner of Quality Logistics, specializes in high-end instrument delivery for Boston Symphony Orchestra and music venues/colleges throughout New England. He coaches sports and delivers motivational talks at local colleges. Stefan’s construction expertise contributed to Lykke Living through custom fixtures, tree installations, and lighting design. His engineering, building background, and design sense shaped our store.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Marianne Rosner Klimchuk is a packaging design education expert who recently retired as professor and coordinator at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. She specializes in bridging design theory with industry practice, shaping professional standards in packaging design. Klimchuk has advanced packaging design as both art form and strategic business tool. She assisted with naming and designed the Lykke Living logo

Deb Shreero’s Environmental Engineer background enhances our retail store, bringing environmental expertise to development and product selection. She serves as Buyer and Inventory Coordinator for Lykke Living, sourcing new products and managing inventory processes. Deb is an expert buyer for books, especially children’s selections.
